TUESDAY, JANUARY 9

“And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number who believed turned to the Lord.”

Acts 11:21 ESV

GOD’S HAND

Pastor James Harnish told of a conversation he had with one of his friends who was a computer analyst. The friend said, “We’re having a conversion at our office next week.” James Harnish said, “What are you talking about?” His friend said, “We’re putting in a whole new computer system, with new hardware, new software, new operating programs, so the whole corporation will function on a whole new set of assumptions. It will be a whole new way of operating. We call that ‘conversion.’”

That is a great illustration of what it means to be spiritually converted. When a person repents and surrenders in faith to Jesus Christ, God dramatically changes that individual. He redesigns that person internally, so that from that point forward he lives on the basis of a whole new set of assumptions, operating his life in a whole new way by the power of God!

In Acts 11, a handful of Christians in a very sinful city began to see God save people and change lives in an unprecedented way. That’s what happens when God’s hand is with you. That means His power is with you and anything is possible.

Have you believed and turned to Jesus? What is the evidence of God’s hand and “conversion” in your life? Pray that God’s hand would be evident in your life, your family, our church, our community and our nation.
