21 Days of Prayer – Day 7
Day 7 – Pray for those around me
“Your kingdom come” – Matthew 6:10a (ESV) (Part 2)
Not only should we pray corporately for God to work through our church, we should also pray specifically for those in our own personal mission field. God has planted us where live, work and play for a reason. God wants to use us to help people open their hearts to God’s rule in their lives.
Think about the spiritual condition of those who live in your neighborhood. Think about the spiritual condition of those who sit near you at work or school. Think about the spiritual condition of the other parents. Make a list of at least five people that you believe God wants you to influence for Him and pray for their salvation on a regular basis. Pray that God would give you an open door to invite them to church and/or engage them in a spiritual conversation. Sometimes people are more receptive to being invited when they are going through a difficult time, when they are facing a sudden transition, or when they are new to an area after moving. Remember, you aren’t going alone. As you pray for opportunities to share Jesus, the Holy Spirit will go before you and come along side you to do the “heavy lifting in their hearts.
