unknownTOP SECRET FOR PARENTS EYES ONLY: Tie up string around your house to create “lazer beams.” Try to stretch the string far and overlap the string to create an obstacle course. This can also be done with crepe paper or yarn. Place a wrapped gift in the middle of the obstacle course.

There is a fragile package concealed in an undisclosed location. Your mission today, should you choose to accept it, is to find and deliver the package back to the main headquarters, aka the kitchen table.

Once the package is attained, examine the following case file questions:

  • What is the attained item?

  • Do you have to work or pay to receive a gift?

  • Why do we give gifts?

  • How do you know who the gift is for?

PARENTS READ: God sent us a special gift that is for everyone. Read John 3:16 as a family. We don’t have to earn the gift God has given us or do anything other than receive it. Read Romans 2:8 as a family, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–“

The gift is not really ours until we choose to receive it. It is of no use to us unless we take it for ourselves, unwrap it, and make it our own. God’s gift of salvation through Jesus Christ is the same. It is not ours automatically. We must first choose to receive it.

PRAY together as a family.
