The Treasure and Favor of God

The man who finds a wife finds a treasure, and he receives favor from the Lord.

Proverbs 18:22

If you are a coach who is married you know the value of a good, strong, loyal, God honoring wife and mother to your children (if you have children). You likely travel on the road week in and week out for months at a time. Different cities, different ball parks, victorious in some games and experiencing loss in others. Throughout the year you attend workouts, games, practices, showcases, player meetings, and camps from the fall to spring to summer and back to fall again. It’s a never ending grind working to find the next talented player to help your organization or program win a championship. The truth is, if it wasn’t for your wife taking care of the home and raising the children, your life as a coach would be a colossal failure.Every wife and mother needs to be praised. A wife and mother who knows she is valued can handle almost anything. She has the skill and boundless energy to cook, teach, help with homework, do business, do the laundry, handle the finances, care for her family and her extended family, help the needy, serve in the church and deal with a variety of difficulties and challenges that come her way—while you’re oblivious to it all. However, if a wife and mom are rarely praised, she will feel unloved, unskilled, and useless. Every wife and mom needs to be thanked, valued, prized, and praised every single day by her husband. Sadly, in today's culture many community leaders, politicians, media personalities and bosses honor greatness and glamour more than godliness. That is wrong and not what God desires.Listen Closely: Do you want to experience Gods’ favor? Carve out margin in your schedule to honor and thank your wife, and mother to your children, every day.
