Every month NorthStar in the Community offers a Big Give opportunity that anyone and everyone can get involved in!
The Clothesline!
The seventh annual Clothesline clothing giveaway will take place at NorthStar on Saturday, September 11, 2010.
Gather your gently used and outgrown clothing, shoes, and coats for all seasons for men, women, boys, girls, and infants. Pre-sorted by sex and age would be appreciated, but not required.
Collections will be taken at the 40-foot Clothesline trailer in the parking lot behind the Compass Centre during both services every Sunday beginning August 1 through September 5.
Contact Melanie Mooney for more information at mooneys1@bellsouth.net.
We also need 400 volunteers (ages 13 and older) to help us work the event, especially on September 9, 10, and 11.

Next Big Give: MUST Food Barrels!
Volunteers needed to provide the following items for the MUST food pantry:
NOTE from MUST: MUST is at its lowest food level in years and we are asking for your help. We are completely out of canned chicken, ham, tuna, salmon, or protein of any kind. Also, we have no flour, instant potatos, jelly, dry milk, oatmeal, grits, canned beans, spaghetti sauce, canned spaghetti meals, tomatos or tomato sauce. We are running very low on dry beans, rice, boxed dinners, mac & cheese, and spaghetti. The need in the last month is over 200% from last year’s numbers and we are finding it extremely hard to keep up. Please look inside your heart and kindly consider having an emergency food drive at your church, school or business location. It may save someone’s life. Please keep our neighbors in need in your prayers and pass along the word via email, facebook, newsletter, newspaper, radio, or tv to your friends, family and neighbors.
