Day 6 – Pray for the Work of the Church
“Your kingdom come” – Matthew 6:10 (ESV) (Part 1)
To understand how to pray this prayer, we need to understand the nature of God’s kingdom. God’s kingdom means God’s rule. When we pray for God’s kingdom to come into our world, we are praying that God would rule and reign in the hearts of all people. This is the central message of the gospel and the primary task of the church. We should view prayer as God’s ordained activity for building His kingdom here on earth. When we pray for God’s kingdom to come, we are praying that God would use His church to reach more people for Jesus. Practically, this would include praying for our church’s leaders, ministries, and volunteers. One day, God will have perfect rule and reign in the hearts of all people. Until that day, we pray, and we go out into the harvest field with the saving message of Jesus.
Pray today for NorthStar Church, its leaders, volunteers, and ministries. Pray for God to bring His rule and reign into the hearts of those living in our communities and around the world through our faithful service.
