ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
John 15:7 (ESV)
MY UNANSWERED PRAYERS: WHEN GOD SAYS “GO”
The recent Winter Olympics was a reminder that many of us watch figure skating for the same reason that we watch Nascar racing. We watch for the wrecks. If you have watched the Daytona 500 you know that sooner or later there is going to be a big wreck. And after they clear the track of debris and the conditions are right they turn on the green light and the cars go back to racing. And the commentator might even say, “Boggity, Boggity, Boggity!”
There are times in our prayer life when the timing is right and I am right and God says, “Let’s go!” Jesus taught in John 15:7 that an abiding relationship with Him that is led by His Word is the starting place for that kind of prayer life.
Intimacy in relationships doesn’t happen by accident. It takes time and intentionality. Are you intentional about spending time with Jesus? Are you intentional about reading the Bible so you can get to know God better? The more we do those things the more we will have the “go” moments in our prayer life.
