FRIDAY, MARCH 22
“Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for He has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ So we can confidently say,
‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?’”
Hebrews 13:5-6 ESV
CONTENT WITH HIS PRESENCE
In June of 2018 Facebook passed over 2 billion users worldwide. Almost one-third of the world’s population is using Facebook. And one of the missions of Facebook is to bring the world together. One of the ways this is done is by allowing us to post pictures of ourselves and our experiences. Another thing we can do is “tag” people who are in our pictures so others can know who we were with. And more importantly we can untag ourselves from the pictures that make us look less than amazing.
God promises in Hebrews 13 that He will be in every picture with us. God also promises that He will never “untag” Himself from the experiences that are difficult or ugly messes. The author of Hebrews teaches that God’s promise to always be there and to always help us which is the key to contentment and confidence.
Occasionally a “memory” will pop up on Facebook and it will show you how many years ago that post was made. Some of the memories are celebrations and some of the memories are from seasons of sadness and struggle. Even though you can’t physically see God in those pictures, He is in every one of them. Thank Jesus for His promise to stay in the picture in your life. Ask God for His help in any area you are struggling to feel content.
