Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one can come to the Father except through Me.”
John 14:6 (NLT2)
Years ago, singer Joan Osborne asked the question, “What if God was one of us?” We don’t have to wonder what God is like because Jesus was God. Jesus was the truth because He was the perfect revelation of the Father. As being the perfect revelation of God the Father:
- Jesus embodies what men ought to know and believe about God; 2. What men should do as children of God and what they should be.
Jesus used the definite article to emphasize Himself as “the only truth.” Psalm 119:142 says, “Your law is the truth.” Jesus, as the incarnate Word of God (John 1:1) is the source of all truth. The word “truth” in Scripture is used in two ways: true as contrasted with false, and genuine as opposed to fake. Jesus is authentic and trustworthy.
What do you believe are some of the lie’s society is telling us about ourselves and what matters in life?
