27 For God has put everything under his feet. Now when it says “everything” is put under him, it is obvious that he who puts everything under him is the exception. 28 When everything is subject to Christ, then the Son himself will also be subject to the one who subjected everything to him, so that God may be all in all.

All in All
1 Corinthians 15:27-28 continues to Paul’s explanation of the end times when Jesus renews all things.
God has empowered Christ to subject all things to himself. To put everything under his feet is an idiom that points to the rule and authority of God. In the previous verses we saw that Jesus abolished all rule, powers, and authorities that objected to God’s law, and now we see that all things are under the rule and authority of Jesus. This is good news as everyone and everything flourishes under his loving rule.
The purpose of this subjection and giving Christ authority is that God may be all in all. By redeeming and restoring all things by the person and work of Jesus Christ, God and his creation are now in proper accord.
Our culture has created a distinction between the Sacred and the Secular. We talk about “secular music” or “secular media” as distinct from “religious music” or “religious media.” Yet, there is nothing that that distinct from God’s rule and reign. WE are made to be with him in all things forever.
