A WITNESSING PEOPLE
In 2007, Nike released a marketing campaign celebrating the greatness of Lebron James entitled “Witness”. The idea behind the campaign was to pay tribute to Lebron and the countless fans and foes who are witnessing his greatness, power, athleticism, and beautiful style of play.
In a similar way, Acts 2:47 describes the first church as a “witnessing” church. The first followers of Jesus witnessed the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. They have seen and experienced life change because of Christ. And as witnesses they are now proclaiming to others what they have experienced. Verse 47 states “all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being added to their fellowship those who were being saved”.
On Sunday, Mike shared with us, “When it’s not about us but about God and His kingdom, we become a church God can trust with the spiritual birth of His children!”. By becoming a witnessing people, we highlight the life of Jesus, not ourselves. May we be a church that witnesses about the life change we have experienced through Jesus!

Take a moment and think about the first time you heard about Jesus. Is there someone that you could witness to about what Jesus has done in your life?
