FRIDAY, MARCH 20
Honor Christ and let him be the Lord of your life. Always be ready to give an answer when someone asks you about your hope.
1 Peter 3:15 (CEV)
MY ROLE IS TO SHARE
In his book The Crisis in the University, Walter Moberly notes the failure of evangelicals to penetrate university campuses with the gospel. To the Christian community he writes, “If one-tenth of what you believe is true, you ought to be ten times as excited as you are.” Seminary professor Howard Hendricks notes: “It’s a rare soul who is interested in embracing a faith that doesn’t move the person trying to share it.” Are you living a life that attracts others? Do others see in you a life filled with hope and joy?
Sharing Christ with others is something that Christ-followers know they should do. But more than that, it’s something they should want to do. According to the Apostle Peter, you should live with a sense of “readiness.” Being ready to share is more than memorizing scripture verses (which is a good thing). It also means that you are so full of joy that you want to share it with someone.
Are you excited about helping others find a relationship with Christ? If not, why not? Ask God to return the joy of telling others about how they can begin a relationship with Jesus. Who will you invite to one of NorthStar’s Easter services? Ask God to give you the courage to invite them. Jesus assured His followers they would not be left on their own as witnesses.
“But the Holy Spirit will come upon you and give you power. Then you will tell everyone about me in Jerusalem, in all Judea, in Samaria, and everywhere in the world” (Acts 1:8 CEV). Give praise to God for His constant presence and power when you share with someone about Jesus.
