“Then he set sail for Syria, taking Priscilla and Aquila with him.”

Acts 18:18 (NLT)

A group of friends went deer hunting and paired off in twos for the day. That night one of the hunters returned alone, staggering under an eight-point buck. “Where’s Harry?” he was asked. “Harry twisted his ankle. He’s a couple of miles back up the trail.” “You left Harry laying there, and carried the deer back?” “Well,” said the hunter, “I figured no one was going to steal Harry.”

Friends don’t abandon you and friends show up when you most need them. Mike shared in the message that Paul’s travel was easier because he didn’t have to go alone. Priscilla and Aquila encouraged him along the way. William Ward said, “Flatter me, and I may not believe you. Criticize me, and I may not like you. Ignore me, and I may not forgive you. Encourage me, and I will not forget you.”

Mike asked you in the message if you have people you spend time with that energize you?  How did you answer that question? Who can you encourage with your presence this week?

Thank God for the people in your life who showed up when others walked away. Ask God to help you recognize anyone who is in need of a friend.
