WEDNESDAY, MAY 25

Then the man with the evil spirit leaped on them, overpowered them, and attacked them with such violence that they fled from the house, naked and battered.

Acts 19:16 (NLT)

GROWING UP:  AM I LIVING OUT OF MY FLESH, OR IN THE STRENGTH OF HIS SPIRIT?

Recently, National Geographic ran an article about the Alaskan bull moose. The males of the species battle for dominance during the fall breeding season, literally going head-to-head with antlers crunching together as they collide. Often the antlers, their only weapon, are broken. That ensures defeat. The heftiest moose, with the largest and strongest antlers, triumphs. Therefore, the battle fought in the fall is really won during the summer, when the moose eat continually. The one that consumes the best diet for growing antlers and gaining weight will be the heavyweight in the fight. Those that eat inadequately sport weaker antlers and less bulk. (Source Unknown).

Satan attacked and defeated the seven imposters in Acts 19:16. The problem was those seven men didn’t not have the proper weapons to fight a spiritual battle. Spiritual battles can only be fought with spiritual weapons that come from having the Spirit of God in your soul.

Reflection

Mike shared Ephesians 6:10-11 and three ways we put on God’s armor: Stay in God’s Word; Stay current in your obedience and; Stay consistent in your prayers. Which of these three would you like to come up with a plan to improve?

Praise/Prayer

Praise God for His power that is greater than Satan’s power. Ask God to give you spiritual strength for any spiritual battles you are currently fighting.
