So beginning with this same Scripture, Philip told him the Good News about Jesus.
Acts 8:35 (NLT)
GO SHARE: LEAD THEM TOWARDS JESUS
You may remember the recent incident in which an Ethiopian Airlines flight was hijacked and crashed into the ocean off the Comoro Islands after running out of fuel. The dramatic moment of impact was caught on home video and broadcast around the world. Only later did we learn of something even more dramatic happening in the cabin as the plane headed for disaster.
Andy Meakins, 43, from Beckenham, Kent, who worked with the Christian charity Tear Fund in Addis Ababa, was on the flight, seated next to his wife. With courage and boldness supplied by the Holy Spirit, Meakins felt compelled to do the unexpected. Andy’s wife heard the snap of a seatbelt being unbuckled and turned to see her husband stand up. Meakens stood up and shared his faith in Christ and presented the gospel. Just moments before the plane hit the water, some twenty people responded to his invitation to receive Christ. A surviving flight attendant had to tell the story, because Andrew Meakins died in the crash. (Today in the Word)
It is only by responding to the good news of the gospel that people can be saved. Our kind lives and good examples may cause them to want to know more about who we are but it’s only knowing and believing in Jesus that will save them. If we want to make an impact for Jesus we have to actually tell others about Jesus.
When was the last time you told someone about Jesus? Do you have friends and family who you aren’t sure they know about Christ?
Thank God for the people who shared the Good News about Jesus with you. Ask God to open doors for you to share Jesus with your friends and family who need to hear.
