“And Paul lived there in Rome for two full years under house arrest at his own expense in his own rented lodging and welcomed all who came to him, preaching and proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all openness and boldness, unhindered and unrestrained.
Acts 28:30-31 Amplified Version
The Apostle Paul was in Rome under the brutal dictator Nero. You see, Nero hated Christians. He was a tyrant. He was a brutal, ruthless Roman emperor. He killed Christians and had them put to death every chance he got. However, God protected the Apostle Paul and planted him in Rome for two full years [“Unhindered and Unrestrained”] while under house arrest with a guard standing post outside his very own rented lodge. Wow – Talk about having the favor of God on your life! God’s sovereign hand protected Paul and used him greatly for two years to preach, teach and proclaim salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone with “Boldness and Openness.”
Listen closely, God has planted you right where you are today for this very same purpose. He didn’t just place you there to make a living so that you could pay your bills, live life, have fun and do it all over again the next day. No!! His sovereign hand put you where He put you so that you would be a Light to a lost and dying world all around you. For this season in your life, God’s sovereign hand is upon you “Unhindered and Unrestrained.”
Don’t waste it. Don’t dismiss it. Don’t neglect it. Don’t abuse it. Rather, Be bold. Be open. Take advantage of proclaiming and teaching God’s word with those you work with and do life around. Make disciples of Jesus Christ. God placed you where He placed you so that you can impact His kingdom. He is continuing to write your story. Don’t steal His pen! Be faithful to the call that God has placed on your life. Bloom right where God has planted you. Go, and Make Disciples!
