Control

Recently, I was with my daughter and her softball All-Star team at the Eastern Regional where her team represented Connecticut against 9 other states.

It was an awesome experience where the girls got to stay in hotels, participate in a parade and hang out with other kids their age from different states.

What was even more great was watching these girls give their best effort and have a positive attitude win or lose.

So much of what we want to do in life is about control and keeping things in our comfort zone.

But life doesn’t always go our way. Bad things happen and valleys accompany the peaks that we live through each and every day.

But in watching my daughter’s softball games, I realized that we can take those same two principles with us in our walks of life.

When life deals lemons, let us make lemonade. The best way to make that lemonade is to look at the things we can control and not what we can’t control, our attitude and our effort.

The Bible says to work hard at everything we do. Give 100%. Maximum effort. Our best effort.

And when we complement that with a positive attitude, it will not only bring joy in our lives, but exude that joy into other people’s lives as well.

This week, seek to control the things in your life that you can control — your attitude and effort.
