You are Precious

“How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand”…

Psalm 139:17-18

On Sunday, May 12, we celebrated Mother’s Day. I do not know if your Mom is still living or has passed away. If you’re married, I do not know if you and your wife have a child, lost a child or miscarried a child. I do not know what pain, hurt, disappointment, setbacks, confusion, frustrations, abandonment or depression you have been through – or are currently going through in your life at this moment.

However, here is what I do know based on the truth of God’s Word: God’s grace and mercy stand ready just for you. In the verse above, His thoughts about you are “precious.” They “cannot be numbered” and in fact, they outnumber the “grains of sand” on the entire earth. I’m not sure about you, but that is too vast for me to understand and comprehend with my finite mind. However, that is how much GOD – LOVES – YOU!

I don’t care what you’ve done on your journey through life, how disobedient you have been, how many times you have blown it, how long or how far you have wandered. There is nothing that can separate God’s infinite, relentless love for you. Where sin abounds, grace “super abounds.”  He sets the hounds of heaven after you.

Therefore, the next time you are down and out, or just struggling to make sense of events that have touched you on your journey through life, remember that God is crazy about you. You are constantly on His mind. He waits expectantly to hear from you every morning. He created you, and God does not create anything that is worthless. You have great value to Him, no matter how much you believe it or not.

Yes indeed, God’s love transcends a Mother’s love. Pause and thank Him today.

Be Worth Being!
