Residency Program

The NorthStar Residency Program is a two-year leadership training program designed to give hands on experience working with one of the staff teams of the church, personal mentoring and leadership training to equip emerging church leaders for a lifetime of ministry significance.

Internship Program

NorthStar Internships are designed to give college students a look into what ministry in the church is like. If you feel called to full-time ministry or think you might want to see what full-time ministry is like, we have internships in multiple areas that would be right for you!

Residency Program

Residents gain experience by serving as part of a staff team in one of the ministry departments of the church. The department in which a resident serves is chosen with the resident based on experience, team chemistry and desired ministry future. Below lists the departments at NorthStar in which a resident might serve.

Qualifications

  • Clear calling into vocational ministry
  • Graduation from College
  • Chemistry with NorthStar philosophy and staff culture
  • Some ministry experience
  • Clear ministry competence and leadership potential
  • Successful completion of application process

Application

The residency start dates are January 1, June 1 , and September 1 of each year. Residents work a total of approximately 30 hours per week. Residents are paid $500 per month (with optional housing for single residents).

1. Prepare Residency Questionnaire

Meet with your residency program director in person or by phone.

4. References

Provide three (3) References.

5. Background Check

A background check is performed on the applicant.

6. Invitation

Church officially invites applicant to residency program.

Internship Program

Interns gain a basic understanding of how ministry in the church function.

Application

Interns must be one semester out of high school and in a degree program either online or on a campus. School credit can be offered depending on the major.

Winter/ Spring Semester: Deadline is November 11, 2019.
Summer Semester: Deadline is May 1, 2020.
