position summary

The College Associate plays a vital role in the spiritual formation of our college students by focusing on Community Group care, discipleship content, and leadership development. This role ensures that students are deeply connected to biblical community and growing in their walk with Christ through structured, supported, and gospel-centered small groups.

This role provides weekly discipleship content, organizes group structures, and personally connects with students who make spiritual decisions during gatherings. The College Associate will blend systems and shepherding to help our students move from simply attending events to being fully engaged in authentic, Christ-centered community.

*In addition to group care, the College Associate will be responsible for building relationships with female students and personally following up with the girls who make spiritual decisions during our gatherings.

Key Responsibilities
Write and Develop Discipleship Content
  • Create weekly Community Group discussion guides that align with the teaching and vision of the ministry.
  • Write Scripture reading plans and memory verse guides for D-Groups to encourage deeper spiritual habits and growth.

Support and Care for Community Group Hosts

  • Forward weekly signups to the appropriate group hosts in an organized and timely manner.
  • Serve as the primary contact for Community Group hosts, offering consistent encouragement, care, and constructive feedback.
  • Plan and lead Community Group Host meetings for training, prayer, and connection throughout the semester.

Organize and Structure Community Groups

  • Maintain and update group rosters, signup forms, and “village” structures as needed.
  • Monitor group size and health, and recruit new hosts as groups grow or multiply.
  • Assist in booking spaces for groups using e-Space or KSU’s EMS system, when necessary.

Recruit and Equip Leaders

  • Identify students with leadership potential and invite them to step into future hosting roles.
  • Provide training, preparation resources, and regular support for hosts as groups develop.
Skills + Qualifications
  • A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to see college students grow in community and discipleship.
  • Experience participating in or leading small groups or discipleship environments.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to write biblically sound, practical, and engaging discussion content.
  • Clear communicator with a pastoral heart and team-first attitude.
  • Passionate about equipping others for ministry and creating systems that support spiritual growth.
  • *Due to the relational and shepherding nature of this role with female students, this position must be filled by a female.
