“The Lord told Gideon, “With these 300 men I will rescue you and give you victory over the Midianites. Send all the others home.”
Judges 7:7
Have you ever been up against insurmountable odds? Unless the circumstances change quickly, there is no way to defeat the giant you’re facing. The giant could be anything—financial distress, health crisis, broken marriage, failed leadership, broken relationships with family or friends, loss of a job, company downsizing, fill in the blank _________!The truth is that Jehovah God specializes in insurmountable odds. Regardless of what you’re facing at this very moment, unless God steps in, your situation is doomed for failure. I’ve been there, I know. Here is some encouragement. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He does not change. His attributes do not change. His love does not change. His character does not change. His faithfulness does not change. His power does not change. God is rarely early, never late, but always on time. He sees your life from beginning to end, and everything in between. He knows the giant that you’re facing this very moment. Just like Gideon was facing in Judges chapter 7.Gideon had an army of 22,000 men that God whittled down to only 300 men, to defeat an army of 120,000 men. Three hundred vs. 120,000? Now, I’m not a gambler; however, I’m smart enough to know those are insurmountable odds in the natural realm. But, God doesn’t just work in the natural; He specializes in the supernatural. He is God and we are not! God shows up when everything appears hopeless. He will share His glory with no one else. Gideon and his 300 men obeyed as the Lord commanded and then they watched the power of Almighty God on display.I encourage you to do the same. Follow God’s commandments. Do what He says. Remain faithful. Don’t waver. Do not fear. Stand firm. Follow Him. Trust Him. Obey Him. Then watch the power of God as He stands in the gap to defeat the giant you are facing.Be Worth Being,KevinSUBSCRIBE TO "OVER THE HUMP" DEVOTIONALKevin Burrell has worked in professional baseball as both a player and MLB scout for the past 40 years, and currently serves as an area scouting supervisor.
