“So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ. That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me.”
Colossians 1:28-29
If you are a coach or professional scout who identifies as a follower of Jesus Christ, a disciple, a born again Christian—Then you are called! You are appointed! You are commissioned! You have been sanctified, set apart as God’s servant on your team, your program, or in your organization to proclaim the message of Christ. You are to “BE” a disciple of Christ and you are to “BUILD” more disciples of Christ. “Being” simply means sharing, telling, communicating the Good News about Jesus Christ and His redemptive plan for the sins of the world. “Building” simply means instructing, leading, teaching, coming along side helping others grow in their walk, fellowship and relationship with God. Helping them to move from a “disconnected seeker” to a “fully trained” disciple of Jesus Christ. There is nothing greater you can do with your life.Listen closely, I’ve said it before and I’ll continue saying it again and again:“You are a Minister—in disguise as a coach or professional scout.” Do not forget this!God has put you where He’s put you for a far greater purpose than yourself. God planted you right where He’s planted you to “BE” a disciple and to “BUILD” more disciples. Bloom where He’s planted you. Don’t get side tracked. Don’t get distracted. Don’t get discouraged. Don’t get frustrated and walk away from the mission God has called you too. Rather, stay focused. Stay disciplined. Stay committed to the upward call in Christ Jesus. Say no to some good things—so that you can say yes to the best things that God has planned for your life.Depend of Christ’s mighty power that works within you. Lock eyes with Jesus and walk towards Him today. Now, go and live sent!Be Worth Being,KevinSUBSCRIBE TO "OVER THE HUMP" DEVOTIONALKevin Burrell has worked in professional baseball as both a player and MLB scout for the past 40 years, and currently serves as an area scouting supervisor.
