Keep a clear mind. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you. As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God.

Well known evangelist, D.L. Moody told the story of his conversion: “When I was a young boy growing up in Boston I attended a Sunday school class. One afternoon, I recall my Sunday school teacher showing up at my work and walking behind the counter of the shop I was working in. He gently put his hand on my shoulder and talked to me about Jesus Christ and my soul. I had not felt that I had a soul until then. I said to myself, “This is a very strange thing. Here is a man who never saw me until lately, and he is weeping over my sins, and I never shed a tear about them.” However, I understand it now—and know what it is to have a passion for men’s souls and weep over their sins. I don’t recall all he said; however, I can still feel the power of that man’s hand on my shoulder that night.”The concern, compassion and tears of a godly Sunday school teacher who made the choice to live his life intentionally resulted in the conversion of a young boy who went on to become a great evangelist, and saw an estimated one-million souls saved throughout his evangelistic message. In 1886 D.L. Moody founded the “Bible-Work Institute of the Chicago Evangelization Society,” which, after his death was renamed, “The Moody Bible Institute.” This school still exists today and is part of Moody’s legacy, including Moody Press, and Moody Church in Chicago—and of course the countless people he led to the Lord in his lifetime. All because a Sunday school teacher was obedient, intentional, worked the work, lived sent and had a burden for a young boy who desperately needed a right relationship with Jesus Christ.So how about you? Who are you intentionally investing your life into? Who are you discipling? Who are you concerned about? Who is it that you have a deep sense of compassion for? Many are willing to do great things for the Lord—but few are willing to do the little things by living their life intentionally. Look on this world as a wrecked vessel, which God has given you a lifeboat and said, “Go, and save all you can.” I remind you today: God makes a promise: Faith believes it, Hope anticipates it, and patience quietly awaits it. Before you exit this world, empty yourself out into the lives of others. Live your life intentionally! By doing so, you might influence and transform the life of another Dwight Lyman Moody.Love God!
